I obtained several long, fingerless gloves before I came back to the US due to their insistence, and I've started respecting the sun a lot more. Those ladies knew what they were talking about! I think to myself, why in these unbearable heat (as I live in the desert) would you wear that. I then I learned their age and was amazed! So while I haven't worked up the nerve for gloves....I have however become the sunscreen queen and I harass as many as I can to wear sunscreen. Gloves may soon be a part of my everyday wear..... She didn't start taking care of her hands until her early 50's and she's been both hilarious and dilligent asking me if I'm taking care of mine. She gardens alot (which has only worsened her aging hands), but she nearly 30 years ago, she came across a Reader's Digest article that suggested wearing good lotion (Eucerin or something to that level) underneath latex gloves underneath her work gloves. This keeps her hands moisturized while doing work that would otherwise do cosmetic damage. She says it keeps her "lady fingers lookin' like Lady Fingers".
