obsessed with Obsessed

Despite my expectation that the new Byonce movie, Obsessed, will be a terrible train wreck of bad acting, I maintain hope that it will also deliver a fun and kitschy time.
Pause for vocabulary lesson – Urban Dictionary defines kitsch as follows – As an art movement, lifestyle, or literature and film genre, kitsch is pleasingly distasteful. It’s melodramatic, overdone, gaudy and tacky or sentimental and folksy. It’s so bad that it’s cool.

Even if the film itself doesn’t win us over, its marketing and promotions team have already won the Dahlight award for their insanely innovative, albeit slightly sick, sense of humor.

Two weeks ago, a friend sent me an amazing video clip that turned my husband into the worthy and unassuming subject of Ali Larter’s (Byonce’s co-star in the film) love obsession. Being that I myself am thoroughly obsessed with my husband and think it’s only a sign of good taste to share my feelings, this clip provoked a hearty chuckle.

So, if you’ve been looking for a cheeky way to profess your personal obsession for someone, take advantage of this marketing genius and create your own clip.  I only suggest you tread lightly and have a firm handle on your subject’s sense of humor lest your well-intentioned compliment be badly misconstrued.
